Το 2014 είναι ουσιαστικά η πρώτη χρονιά που είδαμε μαζική παραγωγή video games για τις δύο νέες παιχνιδοκονσόλες, PlayStation 4 και Xbox One, καθώς και αρκετά νέα παιχνίδια που έδωσαν ώθηση στο Wii U. Δεν έλειψαν οι μεγάλες και φιλόδοξες κυκλοφορίες, ωστόσο, είχαμε και αρκετές απογοητεύσεις λόγω αυξημένων προσδοκιών (βλ. Watch Dogs, Destiny) ή/και αναβολών.
